Quinn the Eskimo Because Sam is singular talent. Aside from that he is a lover of music and the musicians advocate. His label has been a launching pad for more bands than I can count and he just has an ear for great music. Favorite track: All my lovers.
Gothic Crypt
Gothic Crypt thumbnail
Gothic Crypt A fine compilation from the pioneers of ethereal goth/darkwave in the States. Great selection of tracks out of a brilliant discography.
Pie

Pie LOVELY

Second, third and fourth favourites: "The Turbulence and the Torment", "Tear Love from My Mind" and "Again to Drift (for Veronika)"

RECOMMENDED Favorite track: Remnants of a deeper purity.
Uncle Brains

Uncle Brains This collection includes some of the most accesible (but also some of the most beautiful) songs from black tape for a blue girl, including "Again to drift", hardly a sing-a-long anthem, but rather a heart-breaking atmosphere. Favorite track: Given (1. the waterfall 2. the illuminating gas).

I want to stop thinking of love, dreaming of love, defining love. I want to feel the earth below me... ravish me. Given: the waterfall, the illuminating gas. The bachelors: suitors at my call. I used to dream of love as a machine; Myself as the motor, erotic energy. I'm ready to experience this love, to look beyond this glass, leave concept for reality. I want to feel the water immerse me... consuming me. I want to leave behind this lauded virginity, to experience love, to be taken by love. I want to feel the sunlight upon me... overpower me. Given: the waterfall, the illuminating gas. The cinematic blossoming: halo of the bride. I used to diagram love as a machine; Myself as the motor, erotic energy. (repeat during atypical fade-out)

angel, why am i so blind? angel, why am i so blind? the room: sweat pouring, eastern incense, warm red embers within amber flesh slithering naked across a thousand blades, across a thousand blades i hold you gently, your eyes so far away: searching for your justice, searching for your innocence lost as a child adrift on a lonely sea, on a lonely sea slithering naked across a thousand blades, across a thousand blades burn my memory, burn my outline, the tears scream to scar your unpierced flesh shattered mirrors reflecting back your face: “let your defenses fall.” your candle never burned me, the ashes fall to the ground… your candle never burned me, the ashes fall to the ground… burn my memory, burn my outline, the tears scream to scar your unpierced flesh shattered mirrors reflecting back your face: “let your defenses fall.” as you try to pierce my poisoned flesh, as i try to pierce your tortured heart as you try to pierce my poisoned flesh, as i try to pierce your tortured heart

Autumn leaves blowing across my floor Windows broken out by the mean kids who live next door And there she is, well not her exactly but the box she likes to sleep in She was so cute in a skinny kinda way; and they say: Knock three times on your coffin if you want my love Twice on the pipe if the answer, answer is no She put with all the taunts all the nasty things they'd say She'd smile and pretend to ignore them but she stored it all away Don't blame me, don't blame me, they drove her 'round the bend She was so cute in a 'why-don't-you-get-out-and-see-the-sun' kinda way; and they say: Knock three times on your coffin if you want my love Twice on the pipe if the answer, answer is no, no, no The world grew dark, insane men ruled, our stomachs kept on grumbling But we had fun, we danced a lot, if you don't count all that stumbling She was so cute in a 'why-don't-you-put-some-meat-on-those-bones' kinda way, kinda way Kinda weighs not much than the mice and skeletons that run across my floor Mice and skeletons that dance across my floor Knock three times on your coffin lid if you want my love Twice on the pipe if the answer, answer is no, no, no Knock three times on your coffin if you want my love Twice on the pipe if the answer, answer is no Knock three times Knock three times

she was so beautiful to watch, swirling in and out of view a seemingly spanish dancer, hands and heels -- a moon-faced girl with eyes downturned subtle flesh stirs beneath blackened threads -- refined and tempting so shy and enticing, yet i fear she’ll disappear before the night ends. time seems to bring us together again a decade later in another face - are you the girl i’ve been dreaming of? you look like her, you smile like her - that raven-haired beauty of another time a rush of memories washing over me - i’ve always been waiting for someone to set me free. those eyes quietly tell me of the passion we could share your dance reminds me of the life we once knew snares for my hopes, snares for my thoughts, snares for my dreams -- drifting on to oblivion can you tell me about the intuition i feel -- can you tell me about everything i long to understand? remnants of a deeper purity remnants of a deeper purity she was so beautiful to watch - drifting out on to oblivion a moon-faced memory with eyes downturned - are you the one, the one i’ve been dreaming of?
